Leash Law

Lake Helen visitors and residents should be aware that Portage County has a Leash Law requiring pets to be leashed or confined to properties.

Garbage and Recycling

GARBAGE and Recycling service in the Town of Alban is through Harter's Disposal.- This is a year-round service that every land owner pays for through tax assessment.

  • GARBAGE and RECYLING is picked up every Monday (except on holidays)
  • Containers should be placed at roadside by 5:00am
  • LARGE ITEMS will be picked up 2-3 times per month for a fee.  Click on the Harter's link above to see the calendar for the current year.
