At Lake Helen we have been dealing with the spread of an invasive plant
called Eurasian Watermilfoil since 2008. A chemical treatment was done in 2014
and we have been manually pulling the plant since then.  In 2019 we found
that the plant was spreading too much and our efforts to control it manually were
not working.  As a result, we worked with the DNR and determined that another
chemical treatment is needed and is the best action that we can take at this time. 
We’ve developed a plan for a more aggressive manual approach starting
this summer, as needed.
